Six ways to make People like you. If you want people to like you….
Rule 1: Become genuinely interested in other people.
“Do this and you will be welcomed anywhere.”
“You can make more friends in two months by becoming interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get other people interested in you.”
“Ask questions to other people, questions that they would enjoy answering.”
Reflection:
I think this is very true because in order to make friends you have to be outgoing and social instead of just sitting there hoping someone will come up to you and become your friend. It sometimes does work but not always. You have to be able to go and be friendly and send positive vibes to people, if all they get is negative vibes I don’t think they’ll want to be your friends when there’s someone more alive who actually seems interested and happy.
Quote:
“To be interested solely in technique would be a very superficial thing to me.”
-Andrew Wyeth
Picture:

I will apply this by being more alive and social to make more friends.
Rule2: Smile
1) “Actions speak louder than words, and a smile says, “I like you. You make me happy. I am glad to see you.”
2) “You don’t feel like smiling? Then force yourself to smile.”
3) “It creates happiness in the home, foster s good will in business, and is the countersign (witness or indication) of friends.
Reflection:
I think smiling is good because it lets people know that you’re in a good mood. It makes it easier for other to approach you then if you were to look mad and negative. Smiling gives off a good vibe to people and that’s what they want they don’t want a negative person moping around. They want a happy person with good vibes around, then having a negative one.
Quote:
A smile is the light in your window that tells others that there is a caring, sharing person inside.”
-Denis Waitley
Picture:

I would do this by smiling more and letting people know that I’m interested.
Rule 3: Remember names
1)      “A man’s name is to him the sweetest and most important sound in any language.”
2)      “If you don’t remember names, are headed for trouble”
Reflection:
I think this is very true because people might get extremely offended if you don’t remember their names. They might even get mad if you accidently call them the wrong name.
Quote:
“If I'm gonna tell a real story, I'm gonna start with my name.”
-Kendrick Lamar
Picture:

I always use this and I have never forgotten anyone’s name.
Tips to remember names.
  1. Repeat name over and over
  2. Spell out name
  3. Associate with the person
  4. Make connections with that person
  5. Care for the person
Rule 4: Be a good listener. Encourage others to talk about themselves.
“If you aspire to be a good conversationalist, be an attentive listener”
“Remember that the man you are talking to is a hundred more times more interested in himself and his wants and his problems than he is in you and your problems.”
Steps:
Be patient and stay focused
Really listen and don’t think about what you’ve experienced
Allow for periods of silence
Wait until the other person speaks again
Time to time repeat the others words and paraphrase it back to them it’ll make them feel like you really pay attention and like they can talk to you

Understand the emotions behind the words try to give them the same emotions back
Reflection:
Being a good listener will pay off because then people will feel like they can talk to you.
quote:
Picture:
step 5: Talk in terms of the other man’s interest.
“The royal road to a man’s heart is to talk to him about the things he treasures most.”
Reflection:
Talk to people can fun especially when you talk to them about the things they want to talk about. It’ll make the conversation much more fun and positive. They will enjoy talking to you and might want to talk to you more which is a good thing if you want to be social. Talking to new people is never a bad thing so if you do talk to new people make it exciting and a good experience for both of you. Make it so you gain a new friend and someone who can possible becomes a close one.
Quote:
“We talk a lot about hope, helping, and teamwork. Our whole message is that we are more powerful together.”
-Victoria Osteen
Picture:

Rule 6: Make the other person feel important-and do it sincerely.
“The desire to be important is the deepest urge in human nature.” (John Dewey) “Helping people feel important and appreciated works magic.”
Reflection:
Making someone feel important is good because then the person will feel like the can talk to you about things they wouldn’t talk about with, with anyone else.
Quote:
“Love is when the other person's happiness is more important than your own.”
-H. Jackson Brown, Jr.
Picture:

Overall Reflection:
I actually think theses are very great steps to become a very likable person because you will learn to become a person who can carry very great conversations. Most people cannot carry conversations people think its very difficult due to awkward silence and just not knowing what to talk about but with these rules and steps you'll become a very great person to have a conversation with. People will want to talk to you more and more and you'll make more and more friends along the way.

The Six Attitudes of High Achievers”
-John R. Noe
High Achievers…
1)      Make no small plans
Reflection:
I think that this is something great to have in mind because if you want to succeed in life thinking small won’t get you anywhere, well it would but not for a long period of time. You have to think big and get your ideas heard if you want to succeed, and make great achievements. Thinking outside the box is thinking big, if you want to make it. Always think good big ideas and succeed in big things to get more successful. Make NO small plans so you can get ahead of everyone.
Quote:
“Make no little plans; they have no magic to stir men's blood and probably themselves will not be realized.”
-Daniel Burnham
  Picture

I will apply this by never thinking like a normal person. I will think better than them and have bigger better ideas.
2) Do what they fear
Reflection:
Doing what other fear is more then just like holding a snake or something. It means to do things that others are not able to do, to do what others are sacred to do to be able to succeed. Get educated and succeed and don't be afraid to push a little bit of buttons to get where you want to go. Just don't get too greedy and lose everything because you where being too demanding. Be good at what you do and no one will want to lose. Push a little to succeed as much as you can.
Quote:
"Fear keeps us focused on the past or worried about the future. If we can acknowledge our fear, we can realize that right now we are okay. Right now, today, we are still alive, and our bodies are working marvelously. Our eyes can still see the beautiful sky. Our ears can still hear the voices of our loved ones"
-Thich Nhat Hanh
Picture:
I will apply this by not being afraid to push for what I want.
4. Are you willing to risk failure
reflection:
In order to be successful you cant be afraid to fail because you're not going to succeed in everything in your first try. It can take multiple tries to succeed in something. You can never be afraid to fail. Learn from your mistakes and strive for better.
quote:
"The biggest risk is not taking any risk... In a world that changing really quickly, the only strategy that is guaranteed to fail is not taking risks.

5. Are Teachable
Reflection:
People who learn from mistakes will be successful, they teach themselves what works and what doesn't. They will see their mistakes and learn from them. As long as you learn from mistakes you'll be able to succeed more and more.
quote:“Be willing to be a beginner every single morning.”

Way to Be
9 Ways to be Happy and Make Something of your life

Gordon B. Hinckley
 1. Be Grateful
Quote:
Most of us never stop to consider our blessings; rather, we spend the day only thinking about our problems. But since you have to be alive to have problems, be grateful for the opportunity to have them.
-Bernie Siegel
Reflection:

I chose the quote because it’s saying to stop and be grateful about the stuff you have, to not worry about all the problems and just to be grateful for even being alive. Being grateful about things can really say a lot about a person in a positive way.

2. be smart
Reflection:
Being smart can get you a lot of places. It can make you be the most successful person in the world or it can make the most evil. Being smart can go a lot of ways. For example a lot of really bad people are very smart ones. Very wealthy people are also very smart, that or very talented.
Quote:
“A man must be big enough to admit his mistakes, smart enough to profit from them, and strong enough to correct them.”
-John C. Maxwell
Picture:

3. Be involved in Good Works
Reflection:
To be involved in good works is to always have something positive to do and that will help you become successful for example joining a school sport. It’ll make you want to have good grades because without it you can’t play the sport.
Quote:
The best preparation for good work tomorrow is to do good work today.
-Elbert Hubbard

 Picture:

3) Be clean
Reflection:
Being clean doesn’t just mean to keep yourself clean  it mean to keep everything clean, your vocabulary, the way you think, etc. It means not to cheat on anything. It means to do everything at 100% honesty.  Be clean, be honest is basically what it means in this sense. I want to add one more thing stay drug free, you can also be clean in that sense.
Quote:
“Keep close to Nature's heart... and break clear away, once in a while, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean.”
-John Muir

I will apply this by never cheating, copying or doing anything of that sort. I will earn everything honestly.

Picture:
5. Be True
Reflection:
To be true is to be honest. It means to do everything truthfully, to not be a liar. It is saying to be 100 with everything you do, to earn everything honestly.
Quote:
Today you are you! That is truer than true! There is no one alive who is you-er than you!
-Dr. Seuss
Picture:

6. Be Positive
Reflection:
Being positive is always thinking the best of everything. If you have a positive mind set then you’ll probably have positive outcomes of everything you want in life. If you’re a negative person things will probably not go the way you want them to. I know that from experience.  Be positive and always do things for the best, don’t think negatively and think everything will turn out to be the way you wanted them too although with a bit of luck it can happen.
Quote:
“Positive anything is better than negative nothing.”
-Elbert Hubbard
Picture:

I will apply this by always keeping my thoughts good and clear of negative energy, I will always think of the positive and never the negative.
7. Be humble
8. Be Still
9. Be Prayerful
Reflection:
I will use the 9 ways by doing exactly what they mean. i will be respectful, follow orders, and stay positive no matter how things get. I will get through everything honestly and not lie about anything. What I earn it will be honestly.

Commitment
Definition:
An engagement or obligation that restricts freedom of action.
Quote:
Once you have commitment, you need the discipline and hard work to get you there.
-Haile Gebrselassie
Reflection:
I think that this attribute is great because committing to something mean you’ll stick to it no matter what. A lot of people don’t have that skill, they give up when stuff gets hard. It is not a good thing because then you’ll be like that your whole life which can have devastating consequences. If you like something push through it when it gets hard and it’ll pay off, do that even with things you don’t like.

Obedience
"The key to freedom is obedience. The more obedient we are, the more freedom we have."

-Boyd K. Packer
Reflection:
I chose obedience because without it people and anything else would basically be savages. The definition seems almost like if its describing a slave or something but that is pretty much what it mean without being so harsh. Obeying might get people far in life like they might own their own business one day because of following instructions for so long that they know how to get things done. If you obey teachers for example they might start like to like you and they might even let you get excused from an assignment.
This relates to me 100+ Life planning goals because its telling me to be obedient there for I'll get what I want.

Smile
Definition:
Form one's features into a pleased, kind, or amused expression, typically with the corners of the mouth turned up and the front teeth exposed.
Quote:
A smile is happiness you'll find right under your nose.
-Tom Wilson
Reflection:
I think the quote I chose is pretty great. Its saying that you don’t have to look hard for happiness. Anything can make people happy they just don’t know that.

Obedience
Definition:
Its noun, its means to obey or to practice obeying. It also means to do as your told and to follow instructions correctly.
Reflection:
I chose obedience because without it people and anything else would basically be savages. The definition seems almost like if its describing a slave or something but that is pretty much what it mean without being so harsh. Ex:
1)      When your mom tells you to clean something and you do it.
2)      When you follow direction correctly.

911 Memorial

On September 11, 2001 at 8:40 am the Twin Towers in New York were attacked, two planes were high jacked and were crashed into the World Trade Center. Al Qaeda with leader Osama Bin Laden is believed to be behind the attack on the Twin Towers. The amount of people that died that was 2,752. This dad basically changed America because of this Terrorist attack. The first plane to hit the north tower was traveling at 470 Mph and the plane that hit the South tower was traveling at 590 Mph. The South tower in lasted 56 minutes before it collapsed. The north tower collapsed at 10:28 am. At 5:20 another building collapsed. This day was just terrible, hopefully this doesn’t happen again in the U.S.

“Decisions Determine Destiny”
-Thomas S. Monson
Quote:
“It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped”
-Tony Robbins
Reflection:
The quote I picked was because its saying something very real to me, its saying that everything you decided to do will affect your life in some way for the better or worse. For example I can decide to go out and do everything I’m supposed to and get known as a very good person or I can go out and do everything I’m not supposed to and be known as the worst guy on the planet. Decisions do determine what path you take in life so choose wisely.
How does this quote relate to your 100+ Life Planning Goals?

This quote relates to my 100+ Life Planning Goals because it’s saying whatever I do in life there will be a consequence and like I said before it can be for the better or worst. So everything I do in life I have to be very aware of what is that I’m doing so I don’t get mixed up in something I wasn’t planning to unless it’s a good thing but I do not want to get mixed in something bad that I don’t want to be a part of.

Caring
Definition:
Displaying kindness and concern for others.
Quote:
“Promising too much can be as cruel as caring too little.”
-William J. Clinton
Reflection:
I think this attribute is nice because it is just caring for others.  I chose that quote because it is saying that making too many empty promises is like not caring a lot and people shouldn’t do that.

Boldness
Definition:
Courageous and daring
Quote:
The boldness of asking deep questions may require unforeseen flexibility if we are to accept the answers.
-Brian Greene
Reflection:
I think the quote is great because it is saying that even though you don’t like the answer to some questions being bold can help you overcome it.

Attitude
Definition:
A settled way of thinking or feeling about someone or something, typically one that is reflected in a person's behavior.
Quote:
“Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.”
-Thomas Jefferson
Reflection:
I think the kind of attitude you put out will determine the type of reactions you get or what others think of you, I chose this quote because it is saying attitude can guide you and without you’ll become lost.

Personal Development Quote
“A man without a goal is like a ship without a rudder”
-Thomas Carlyle

Reflection:

This quote is saying that a person without a goal in life is like a ship without any thing to guide it, so its saying that you need to have a sense of direction to become successful or you’ll end up getting lost. This relates to my 100+ Life Planning goals because this quote can help me get back on track if I’m ever slacking off.

Tuesday, August 25, 2015

When I get out of High School I want to join a police academy and just work on being a Police officer, I do not want to attend college but I do want to spend my time educating myself on the laws, the rights one have and stuff like that. I want to be the best I can be and do not want to be a corrupted officer.
Assertiveness
Definition:
Confidently aggressive or self-assured.
Quote:
“Nobody can give you freedom. Nobody can give you equality or justice or anything. If you're a man, you take it.”
-Malcolm X
Reflection:
I like the quote I picked because it is saying to assertive and to take what you want. I remember myself being assertive when my friends tried to make me do something I didn’t want to do, they kept insisting until I said no with more self-confidence and they stopped.

Accountability
Definition:
The fact or condition of being accountable; responsible.
Quote:
“It is wrong and immoral to seek to escape the consequences of one's acts.”
-Mahatma Gandhi
Reflection:
I feel being an accountable person is a good thing, it means people trust you, that you’re responsible. I chose this quote by Gandhi because it’s basically saying to me if you did something wrong and you get caught don’t try to escape the consequences, deal with it because it is the right thing to do. Accept the consequences for your actions.
Picture:
